2005 - Here we come!!!
Saturday, May 14, 2005
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm already excited for this season to start. Not only will we have most of our starters from last year, but we'll have a crushing running game. Anyone running behind Andrews and Ritchie will have a huge head start and at least a few yards gain. TO or not our offense is gonna light things up.
On the Nest front, we're gonna do some great things. We're beginning the planning stages for possible road trips and big events this year.
Superbowl Bound
Thursday, January 27, 2005 - Hey guys and gals,
Last Sunday was perfect wasn't it? An absolute thing of beauty. The boys did it!!! We had a great turn out. I figure there were at least 125 people there in green. It was a great crowd and we made a lot of new friends. There was a lot of screaming and yelling and even a little bit of crying going on. We had 3 people officially join our club (welcome Leann, Pete and Aaron). We also all met a very social gentleman named Scott. I think he hugged everyone and I even saw him hugging a Steelers fan which I thought was a very nice thing to do. Way to go Scott! It turned out he needed a little comforting that day.
Scott, Barry and I have been planning the SUPERBOWL PARTY. Barry and Brian are going to go all out. They are working on extending the premise into the parking lot. They will have a DJ and a portable 8' bar out back. The big news is that they have decided to buy 2 new plasma big screens that will be temporarily put outside. After the game, they will be placed permanently behind the bar!!!! They had been planning on doing this before the next football season but they are going to do it before the superbowl so they can make this party grand. For all of you guys out there, our Miller girls will be back. They don't do much for me but I can't seem to get Barry to invite any Miller guys. We are also planning on getting some gift certificates to give away to the Desert Eagles' Nest members at the end of each of the first 3 quarters. There is still time to join and become an official member so that you, too, can be eligible for the drawings.
Were in the News! (again)
Sunday, January 30, 2005 - This time, the paper.
We're in the paper, the Arizona Republic printed an article this Sunday on us.
You can check it out at:
Arizona Republic
Everyone out there that bleeds green needs to come to this party. We are going to be heard clear up in Philly AND over in Jacksonville! So all of you flying back to Philadelphia or over to see the game in person, listen for us screaming over here!!!! To all of you that are staying, we want you all to have a good time but we also want everyone to BE SAFE. Barry, Scott and I are making arrangements to either have taxis or we might drive some home (no zuking in my car!). If you know you are going to party and get hammered, leave your car at home and have someone drive you in. If you want to be a designated driver and don't plan on drinking, I will be up front before the game and I will put you on a list to help get people home safely after we win. But it is up to all of you to be responsibe and let us know if you don't feel like you should get behind the wheel. I don't want to read about you in the paper the next day other than if it is talking about us having a DAMN GOOD TIME DEMOLISHING THE PATRIOTS!!!!!
I am not going to miss the last half of the Superbowl like I did at the last game. I plan on getting there 3-4 hours before the game and setting up a table right as you walk in the front door. You can purchase your memberships or 50/50 tickets as you walk in. When the game starts, I will move my station back over by the bar so you can still buy 50/50 tickets or memberships throughout the game, I just won't be walking around as much.
The game starts at 4:30pm our time, so make sure you get to Philly's early to get a good spot to watch the game. Come on down to show your support and see all of the awesome things that Barry and his crew have done to make this a night to remember. Enjoy yourself and remember the EAGLE is the most patriotic symbol!
GO EAGLES

We Made the News
Sunday, January 23, 2005 - We Made the Channel 12 Morning news!
Channel 12 heard about us and interviewed a few of us. It was live and at 5am on a Friday, but we were there to show our support. Nicole and the crew were great and it was pretty fun. We've already received emails from people who saw the segment and plan on showing up later today to watch the game. It should be packed, so get there early. Also, the Arizona Republic is supposed to be there to interview Eagles fans for an article.
Miss Me?
Monday, January 17, 2005 - Hey all! Did you miss me?
Some of you told me that you did! That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... Well, enough of that!!!! Hey, we did it! I must admit, I wasn't sure we could pull it off. But our boys showed up to work and they did their jobs. It was a beautiful thing to see. Now it is on to the NFC Championships!!! NICE!
Just a note that the game is at 1pm here, so show up to Philly's early to get a seat for the game. We had about 25 fans at Philly's yesterday and I want to thank you all for showing up with your singing voices tuned (?). Welcome back Jim, it was good to have a leader for the screaming section. We missed you when you weren't there.
I want to make a couple of points.
1) It still isn't too late to officially join the club and if you are thinking that you will wait until next year, we are rolling this year's dues over to next year. Remember, this club is a non-profit organization. I am planning on using any money that we make in dues the rest of this season to buy gear during the off season so that we can start our door prize give aways at the first game next year.
2) Anyone who has relatives in Philly or who is planning on traveling to Philly in the next few months and wants to do a little shopping with someone else's money, let me know. I need to develop a list of people who can purchase gear over there and ship it to me or bring it back with them. Just send me an email or, better yet, let me know next Sunday when you come in to watch the game with us.
3) We will be starting our 50/50's at the next game so bring a few extra bills (dollars that is). It will be one dollar for one ticket, five dollars for 7 tickets. Half of the money goes to the winner of the drawing and half goes into the club for buying gear. Donations from the winner to the club will be most appreciated. This is a game that non-members can be involved in as well but if you win, you must join the club.
4) I appreciate everyone's excitement during the game but there is a fine line between friendly banter and down right taunting. Please remember we're adults and walk on this side of the line, both inside and outside of the bar. If you don't understand the line just stick to conversations with Eagles' fans.
5) Kevin can correct me if I don't get this correct. His father was listening to the sports talk radio in Philly and THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT US!!!!!!! Someone called in and said that Philly's is the place to go in Phoenix to watch the game. I just wanted to let you all know that incredible news. So give yourselves a pat on the back for spreading the news.
Well, I think I have made up for not writing for a couple of weeks. I will see you all at the game next Sunday when we pluck the Falcons. And to all of the Eagles out there;
SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE RIDE
See you all Sunday,
The Mother Hen
