Welcome to the DEN!

The best Eagles Fan Club in the Phoenix area, The Desert Eagles’ Nest welcomes you to our web site and also to join us to root the Eagles to victory.

We are meeting in a great place again this year, one that made last season a great experience. The Upper Deck Sports Grill in Scottsdale has welcomed us back to watch games and celebrate this season.

Why Join the Desert Eagles’ Nest?

You don’t have to. You really don’t. But, it’s worth considering. Email David at one.deserteaglesnest(at)yahoo.com.

There’s a few reasons to join. The first is that there’s nothing better than watching your favorite team surrounded by crazy, obnoxious, loud, cheering Eagles fans. The second is a cool Desert Eagles’ Nest t-shirt. The third is the raffles. We've raffled away some cool Eagles items and will continue to do so.

Plus you get to hear the EAGLES fight song, played every time we score a touchdown.

We won.

We held on to beat a poor Jets/NYTitans team this week, but we really need to play better if we have any hope of making the playoffs.

Preseason Update

It's almost that time again. The season is almost upon us.

David has been working hard on new t-shirts and plans for the season.

We will be doing our regular bye week picnic at Indian School Park on Oct 7th don't forget, Challenging the Arizona National Guard to a volleyball match, last year we were smoked so we need a few RINGERS. In addition we have a beer permit it will be BYB, so drinking is allowed, we will be doing one of two things for food or bring it in.

Tempe 12 will be featured for the Monday Night Game vs the Redskins, David with Tempe 12 will be giving away this years calender during halftime.

David has put the myspace page back up. Check out Desert Eagles Nest MySpace page for up to date changes.

DEN Picnic a Success!

The picnic this last Sunday was lots of fun. The Eagles didn't lose. There was plenty of food, beer and volleyball for everyone. Oh yeah, there was also plenty of cake. Thanks to everyone who pitched in to help make this past Sunday a success.

Keep your eyes and ears open, cause I'm sure we'll have one more before the season is over.

Donovan, Andy, Pull your head out!

What can I say? Even though the game was on TV we still had plenty of Eagles fans and DEN members. Scott and MaryAnn(pictured left) were there. Were you? Make sure you show up for the picnic or the start of the Eagles turnaround.

Another Invincible Screening (UPDATE)

Friday, August 11 - Another screening. Dave has done it again and has some free passes for two more pre-release screening of the Invicible. So, if you missed the first one, or just want to watch it again, email Dave or the DEN to request a pass. The first screening will be held Tuesday, Aug 15th at 7pm at the Harkins Fashion 7 in the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. The second will be the day before the movie comes out, August 24, at 7pm at the AMC Mesa Grand.

First Encore Screening of Invincible - 7:00pm Aug 15, 2006

Second Encore Screening of Invincible - 7:00pm Aug 24, 2006

Friday, July 28 - Soon we'll have pictures from the screening. We had a good turnout. The movie was good, better than expected. It could have been a little more realistic if it wasn't a Disney film. I don't think I heard one Philly F-bomb, but it was still good. The one thing it did was make me that much more anxious for this season to get started. I can't wait to see our defense this year.

Wed, July 26 - Roc from Calling All Sports - ESPN Radio will be giving away free passes to the screening, so make sure you listen in to 860AM from 2 to 4pm for your chance to win.

Special Screening of Invincible - 7:00pm July 27, 2006

Dave has organized a pre-screening for the Desert Eagles' Nest this Thursday July 27th at 7:00pm at the AMC Esplanade 14 (Map).

We have a limited number of FREE passes, so make sure you get there early or get in touch with Dave via email by Wednesday (davidanthony(at)sprintpcs.com). We're told they overbook screenings so get there around 6:00pm. Dave will be there early to hand out the passes.

Invincible movie trailer

A special screening for Eagles fans in the Phoenix area, set up with AMC Theaters, and we have a special allotment of tickets.

This will be a fun, time for Eagles fans, and a great way to kick off the season.

Thanks for setting this up Dave!!!

News From the Desert Eagles' Nest(East), Middle East

It's always great to hear from Adam, so here's his latest report from Iraq:

Hey EAGLES Fans,

Just wanted to send a quick hello from the other desert over here in Iraq. I'm missing the chicken wings, the atmosphere, and the fans there in Phoenix for sure, but have been catching as much of the games as I can, and keeping up on team news (which there has been a lot of lately as we all know). I've found another die-hard fan, one of the Docs in my unit saw me wearing my Eagles shirt at our Halloween party and I had someone to talk to the rest of the night. He gets the games recorded and sent out here VHS so any games we don't see we can re-watch. With the time-change- late games come on here at about 330 in the morning or so.

Everything here is going fine. Just living day-by-day and accomplishing the mission. I'm running a guard tower here, and keeping our camp safe from any insurgence. For the most part though, I'm looking forward to time flying and getting out of here next year. Speaking of flying - The C-130 aircraft that brought me from Kuwait to Iraq was from the Pennsylvania National Guard - and no kidding - had a Philadelphia Eagles Logo painted on the tail. You don't get a better omen than that. Not to mention that our chow hall is named, "The Eagle's Nest".

Have a beer for me at the next game, and I'll drink an O'Douls over here. It's all we're allowed. I'll be thinking of ya all and of course, - rooting for the birds!

Adam
aka SSG Casey

Cardinals game tickets UPDATE

October 28 - We purchased around 40 tickets from The Green Legion but have had problems collecting money. We sent in a check for about 3/4ths of the total amount, but there was a problem with the second check we sent. It was lost in the mail and we had to cancel it and recut another. The tickets are printed but I am told we are waiting on the second check to clear before we get the tickets. Should be very soon.

We will update this site and send out an email as soon as we get them.

In addition, we still have a few extra tickets, so if you're interested, bring cash or check(payable to Desert Eagles' Nest) to the game.

Thanks for your patience.

Eagles vs. Redskins

November 2 - Looks like this might be a Backup Bowl, with all the injuries this game might be much tougher than expected. In any case it should be an exciting one, and if not, that's ok, we'll still have fun. Last weekend, Kim won an Eagles sunshade and this weekend we'll be raffling off a cool Eagles Santa hat to one of our lucky members.

We're working on a new logo and when we finish it, we can order shirts.

See you all at Philly's. Game is at 6:30pm, Phoenix time.

Did you see?

Eagles Blocked Kick With 10 Men.

October 18, 2005

What can I say. The Eagles decided not to show up Sunday. Who will even remember this game when the Eagles shake it off and win the Superbowl? Good news is: Peggy won an Eagles shirt.

Chargers will be a tough game but the Eagles can win if they pull their heads out.

See ya at Philly's on Sunday.

October 3 - Hi all,

I am still in shock over that game! What a comeback! We had a great time at Philly's yesterday. There were some new faces as well as some well known faces. Always good to see the foam head every week. I want to wish Joe a great birthday. Those of you there got to enjoy some of his Eagles cake that he brought in. Welcome to the new members; John (who won a t-shirt in the drawing), Craig with the cool tattoos, and Mark. Also, welcome the new members from last week's game. I wasn't there so I will have to meet them later. I won't be at next week's game but Scott has agreed to run the show so we will still have an awesome prize drawing. Our recent new member Mike has graciously donated a $50 gift certificate to the Scottsdale Running Company. Remember members, your chances of winning gear and prizes are significantly increased by showing up to watch the games. We are in the making of getting some gear straight from Philly so we should have that soon.

Anyone interested in going to the Cards game with us and the Green Legion, buy your tickets now! We only have a few left! First come, first serve.

Julie

October 1 - This week we have the Chiefs and it's a late game, but arrive early if you want good seats.

September 15 - Hello all: I am sure that you are all in some level of mourning after last night's game and some of us are in a little shock too.

I guess it is to be expected when you start the game off throwing punches! Well, we wouldn't be the Eagles if we weren't the talk of the Universe, huh? Maybe it is a sign of greatness to come. Just hope that TO can start earning his measly wages and start to actually catch some passes.

August 10 - One of our own courageous members, Adam will be deploying to Iraq about the same time we start off the regular season. Here is a little note from him.

Hey there. Just wanted to send a quick hello and let you all know that I'm going to have to miss this next season. Not that I won't still be rooting for the Eagles(!), I'll just be rooting for them in Iraq, instead of at Philly's. (I hope the hot-wings are as good in Iraq) In about a month I'll be deploying with the famous 101st Airborne Division, stationed down here in Fort Campbell, KY. I couldn't have been sent to a better unit though, as our unit patch is the Screaming Eagle, which is not exactly the same, but is as close to the Eagles' logo as you can get in army patches. It must be fate. (www.campbell.army.mil). Anyway - it is going to be sad to be so far away when we win the Superbowl. I've heard that we'll probably get chances to see a few games, so I'm going to find all of the Eagles fans in my unit and start another chapter of the Desert Eagles Nest - cause after all - Arizona isn't the only desert out there - Iraq's got one of those too. I'll send pictures for the web-site if I can get the up-link and be cheering along with you all in spirit. One thing is for sure - my jersey is making the trip.

-Adam

August 1 - Training camp is here and preseason games are right around the corner. TO showed, but Westbrook didn't. Hopefully all will be straightened out soon.

July 28 - Training camp is just about here and we have almost all the rookies signed. T.O. will be in camp and Simon won't. I don't know who Corey's agent is, but if you ask me it's a stupid move on his part.

For all those who ordered tickets for the Eagles V. Cardinals game please get your money in as soon as possible. Thanks.

July 15 - Word is Donovan is in town getting his timing down. Keep your eyes open and you might see him around.

Mike 'Roc' Muraco from ESPN's Calling All Sports Show is a huge Eagles fan. Check him out on the air or at www.callingallsportsaz.com.

July 13 - Moving stuff around, rearranging. Pardon the dust. Make sure you email us pictures or any ideas for the site or the club.

For those of you who expressed interest, the tickets we bought for the Eagles v. Cardinals game are located in sections 17 & 18 starting at row 10 and going up.

Also, we're redesigning our logo and should have the site updated within 2 weeks.
